About the Author:
The late Hajjah Amina Adil, may God grant her peace, was called by all who knew her, Hajjah Anne, mother. She was the wife of the Grandshaykh of the Naqshbandi Sufi Order, Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil, for over fifty years. In addition to her own four children, sixteen grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren, she raised and nurtured with love and wisdom the thousands of students and visitors who descend yearly upon the humble house of the Shaykh in Cyprus.
Not one to spend time in idle talk, Hajjah Anne taught the art of servanthood by serving the Shaykh and his guests tirelessly with good humor, cooking everyday for everyone. She taught respect for God's gifts by never wasting anything and reusing everything. She taught worship by following faithfully Shariah and Sunnah and maintaining her Sufi practices. She taught patience, kindness, respect and hard work by her daily example. As a scholar, she passed on to new generations from her vast knowledge, stories of the Prophets and Saints - stories used to teach wisdom from the beginning of time.
