About the Author:

Hajjah Nazihe Adil Kabbani was raised in a home where she served the guests of her father, Shaykh Muhammad Nazim Adil al-Haqqani, grand master of the Naqshbandi-Haqqani Sufi Order. Her holy parents depended on her assistance in serving the countless guests who would come to attend their associations. Under the intense work environment of the Sufi guest house, khaniqah, the young Hajjah Nazihe learned the importance of the ethics of service, perfected manners and purity of character under the tutelage of her mother, Hajjah Aminah, herself a learned scholar of classical Islam and its spiritual discipline (Hajjah Anne taught the art of servanthood by serving the Shaykh and his guests tirelessly with good humor, cooking everyday for everyone. She taught respect for God's gifts by never wasting anything and reusing everything. She taught worship by following faithfully Shariah and Sunnah and maintaining her Sufi practices. She taught patience, kindness, respect and hard work by her daily example). Now married to the representative of her saintly father, Shaykh Muhammad Hisham Kabbani, she puts her knowledge gleaned in her youth to use in both teaching and serving the guests who frequent one of America's busiest Sufi teaching centres. Morning and evening, in the kitchen Hajjah Nazihe guides the preparation of Sufi cuisine, providing both physical and spiritual food to her guests.
